A:Hi, there! Thanks for your question.This small diesel generator for camping is designed to be weather-resistant (not completely weather-proof). Outdoor installation is common, and the optional control panel weather cover protects the sensitive exterior components from the elements. We would recommend having at least a roof/top cover above the unit to protect against the direct elements. A fully enclosed structure may not be necessary depending on the conditions. Thanks.
